THE Toco Main Road is currently blocked by a fallen tree.
Motorists are being advised to use an alternative route.
The Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government (MRDLG) issued the advisory at 10 am on Tuesday on its Facebook page asking affected persons to call their Disaster Management Unit (DMU).
The DMU of the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation and other relevant agencies are attending to the situation.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Ministry of Works and Transport postponed an event due to the inclement weather.
With an adverse weather alert yellow level in effect, the MRDLG is also asking citizens to report causes of flooding which includes blockage of watercourses, illegal diversions, dumping of rubbish and overgrown trees and bushes
The ministry stated, “Rainy season is almost here, and we need your help to prevent flooding! If you see any potential causes of flooding, such as clogged drains or blocked waterways, report them to your relevant corporation immediately.”
