A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a market vendor.
Junior Barrack, of Enterprise, Chaguanas, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Cazabon in the North A Criminal Court, on Monday.
Quashie, 33, a market vendor, of Felicity, was at his stall in the Chaguanas market on March 16, 2024, when he was accosted by a man armed with a gun.
During the confrontation, the victim was shot and died at the scene, while the assailant fled on foot.
Investigations were spearheaded by Supt Persad and supervised by ASP Maharaj, both of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three.
One male suspect was arrested in connection with the incident on July 31, 2024.
Barrack was charged on August 2, 2024, by WPC Candace Murren also of HBI Region Three, following advice received from acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Subrina Doorgadeen-Jaglal, on that same date.
