A SUSPECT wanted for the double murder of a Westmoorings woman and her daughter is held by police on Tuesday night – hours after the killings.
A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Wednesday stated that he was held by officers of the Northern Division and other Units after a search exercise along the Blanchisseuse Road, Arima, between 1 pm and 8.15 pm, on Tuesday.
The release stated that the suspect is a Warrant Officer II, attached to Cumuto Barracks, Camp Cumuto.
The exercise included multiple personnel from the Northern Division, the Arima Operational Crime Patrol, the Coastal and Air Support Unit, the Canine Branch and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.
Extensive searches were conducted via foot and drone technology in the district for the suspect.
The suspect is wanted in connection with the murders of 43-year-old Calida Schamber and 66-year-old Carmelita De Leon, both of Glencoe.
Investigations are ongoing into the above matter.
