PRESIDENT of the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) Rajiv Diptee has been selected to serve for a third term.
On September 28, SATT hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Buffet King Restaurant, Centre Pointe Mall, Chaguanas, and members voted unanimously to return Diptee to SATT’s top position for the term 2022 to 2024.
The board of executives for the concluded term 2020 to 2022 highlighted the various projects during the period including food drives, hamper and device donations during the pandemic as well as the highly regarded public-private partnership which was the vaccination drive held at mall’s auditorium accounting for nearly 100,000 fully vaccinated persons.
In a release on Monday, SATT stated that its members voted for Diptee having been satisfied by the efforts and commitment of the board in the outgoing period which saw many initiatives launched and completed.
SATT stated, “Mr Diptee would have overseen a restructuring of the organisation to align his vision with keeping focus on corporate social responsibility values. Projects were outlined for the upcoming term to tackle matters of sector and industry.”
On his selection, Diptee told AZP News, “It’s been a lot of tireless selfless yeoman service on my part. There have been many challenges I have had to overcome on a personal level. These experiences have shaped me personally and professionally and I’ve grown to appreciate that helping others is a form of rewarding service. I must commend my team that supports me 300% and the growth of the organisation has blossomed as a result. When you have these key factors in place, it is easy for me to continue my service.”
He said SATT has grown to put people at the heart of all their initiatives especially as the last two years have been extremely difficult for many going through the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I feel very strongly about the well-being of families and citizens and a lot of our relief projects from vaccination to device donations to hamper relief to food drives have kept a personal focus on supporting the people that need it most. It has been a very difficult period for Trinidad and Tobago during the last two years of the pandemic but we have persevered to ensure our CSR duty to country,” Diptee said.
The returning President said while there were now frightening challenges with food inflation, SATT will continue to work to find solutions during these uncertain times.
