In a letter on Wednesday signed by Digicel’s Chief Executive Officer for the Caribbean and Central America Oliver Coughlan, the company outlined its measures for its hundreds of employees.

The company stated, “With the essential nature of the services we provide to our customers and our communities, now more important than ever, we take the safety of all our employees and customers extremely seriously. The task here is to protect lives and livelihoods and so we must put in place, a policy that succeeds in doing both.”

The policy is applicable to all employees regardless of work location and employees will not be allowed to work remotely  as a means of either avoiding taking the vaccine or avoiding PCR testing. And all new hires must be fully vaccinated before taking up duties at the company.

The only exemption that will be allowed, would be for medical reasons.

And Digicel encouraged all to the vaccine that was readily available at various locations.
