SEAN Sayers, also known as “Butters” and “Saeed” has been granted $ 200,000 bail after being charged with possession of a firearm and a quantity of ammunition .
According to police reports, the 40-year-old proprietor of Upper Richplain Road, Diego Martin appeared before the Port of Spain Magistrate o Wednesday and was ordered to report to his local police station biweekly as part of his bail conditions.
Sayers was arrested on May 9 and later charged on May 11 by PC Bocage of the Western Division Task Force (WDTF) following the execution of a search warrant at a shop.
Police said around 9.40 pm on May 9, WDTF officers searched a shop and allegedly found one Glock 17 nine millimetre pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition.
The shop owner was arrested and charged in connection with the find.
Sayers is expected to reappear in court on June 8.
