THE July/August school vacation is in effect and Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh is advising against sending children to in-person vacation camps even if organised in small groups.
At the Ministry of Health’s virtual press conference on Monday, Deyalsingh said children were super spreaders of the Covid-19 virus.
Trinidad and Tobago is not yet vaccinating anyone under the age of 18.
Deyalsingh said, “At this point in time, we are advising against children congregating in camp settings for this August vacation just as we did for last year.
“We want to minimise spread and congregation of any type. It is not something that we should be doing at this point in time especially for children who are unvaccinated and children as you know, are known to be super-spreaders, especially the asymptomatic super-spreaders.”
