Delayed Flights: Satellite System Down

THERE is currently a regional outage with the SITA satellite communication system.
The advisory comes from Caribbean Airlines today (Thursday 22, 2025) issued at 10.06 am.
As a result, the airline’s B-737 jet services are currently experiencing delays.

A media release from the airline states, “It should be noted that this issue is not unique to Caribbean Airlines but to all airlines using this system.”
SITA – a multinational information company offers internet via satellites worldwide as a managed service. It provides connectivity services at airports, airlines, ground handlers, and other organisations for primary, backup, emergency, and interim connectivity.

Caribbean Airlines stated the matter is currently being worked on by the relevant service provider and thanked its customers for their understanding and co-operation.
