TOBAGO has recorded a death from the cluster of Covid-19 cases at the Scarborough General Hospital.
This according to Dr Anthony Thompson, Covid-19 Response Team in the Office of the County Medical Officer of Health speaking at the Tobago Division of Health, Wellness, and Development virtual press conference on Thursday.
He revealed that 11 patients tested positive for Covid-19 while there has been one death associated with the cluster.
In addition, Dr Thompson said, “Four more healthcare workers tested positive for Covid-19 which bought the total number of staff infected to 31. This also included a medical records officer, who tested positive for the virus while the remaining 18 members of staff in that department tested negative.”
He said that surveillance testing is still ongoing in other departments.
Dr Thompson said in the Covid-19 ICU, 24 nurses were tested and six results returned out to be positive.
He said in addition, 15 nurses tested negative, while there were two pending results.
