Deadliest Covid-19 Day in T&T: 32 Deaths…

THE highest number of deaths in the Covid-19 pandemic was reported today – Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

The Ministry of Health in its latest Covid-19 update (#939) reported 32 deaths.

The deaths were:

  • 15 elderly men;
  • 8 elderly women;
  • 3 middle-aged men; and
  • 6 middle-aged females.

Sixteen had multiple comorbidities while ten had only one and six were without any known pre-existing conditions, the ministry reported.

It stated that there were 706 new positive cases taken from samples during the period December 11 to December 14.

Patients recovered:  65, 494

Total positive cases: 82, 563

Deaths: 2,486

Patients in hospital: 524

Patients in step-down Facilities: 152

Patients in state quarantine: 55

Patients in home isolation: 13,201

Total persons vaccinated with 1st dose of a Two Dose Regime: 654, 287

Total persons vaccinated with 2nd dose of a Two Dose Regime: 610,475

Total persons vaccinated with a Single Dose Regime: 46,451

Total persons with a Completed Vaccination Regime: 656, 926

Total persons with Additional Primary Dose and Booster: 46, 602

Percentage of patients in the parallel healthcare system who are not fully vaccinated: 88.1%, 7,540  out of 8,555 based on data from July 22, 2021 to November 24, 2021
