SECRETARY of the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development in Tobago Tracy Davidson-Celestine is confirming that she has not been in contact with any Covid-19 positive patients.
At a press briefing organised by the Division on Friday, Davidson-Celestine was asked if rumours that her close relatives have tested positive for the virus and also that they were receiving preferential care were true.
She did not state whether she had relatives at Covid designated facilities.
Davidson-Celestine replied, “The Tobago Regional Health Authority and the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development would have taken the decision to provide facilities of care to anyone who is positive with Covid. Positive and well and positive and unwell. We have also taken the decision that there are certain meals and accessories that we would provide in that level of care.”
She added, “I am taking it at this point in time, everyone who is in that facility or those facilities that have been provided, would receive the same level of care.
“If there are any relatives of mine who contracted Covid and have been placed in isolation, I expect that they would be treated just like everyone else who would have contracted Covid.”
The secretary added that she personally has not been in contact with any Covid positive patient and that is well and healthy.
“I am completely fine. I don’t know that I have been exposed to persons who would have had Covid and recently, if it is that I was exposed, then I would follow the rules and regulations and the precautions that we have been sharing with members of the public,” Davidson-Celestine said.
