THE Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) is calling on the Government to declare a day of mourning in Trinidad and Tobago for the four divers who died after being sucked into a sea line in Pointe-a-Pierre.
They are also asking for the National Flag to be flown at half-mast for one day.
Secretary-General of CWU Clyde Elder made the call at a press conference on Tuesday held to address the closing of the Education Facilities Company Limited (EFCL).
Elder held a moment of silence in honour of the lives of divers Fyzal Kurban, Rishi Nagassar, Yusuf Henry and Kazim Ali
He said, “We must not allow this tragic incident and the death of these four brave men to go in vain and to go unnoticed.”
