A 52-year-old man nicknamed “Crusher” has been charged with the murder of two-year-old Angelo Farrel that took place in 2023.

Marvin Rugette, 52, of Beetham Gardens was charged with murder, following legal advice received from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated in a media release on Tuesday.

Rugette, also known as “Crusher”, is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate in due course.

The charge stems from the tragic death of Angelo Farrel, a two-year-old child, who was allegedly beaten on November 18, 2023, at Beetham Gardens. Medical treatment was sought for the child at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, but he succumbed to his injuries on five days later.
