THERE are 35 people who are in isolation in Tobago after coming into contact with Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley who is Covid-19 positive.
This was revealed by acting County Medical Officer of health Dr Tiffany Hoyte at a virtual presser of the Tobago House of Assembly on Tuesday.
She said, “All contacts during the period when the honourable prime minister would have been considered infectious would have been within Tobago given the time when symptoms developed.”
Dr Hoyte said some of these people have returned to Trinidad but she could not give that number.
She said they were now under the purview of the relevant county medial officers of health in Trinidad.
Dr Hoyte said the majority of the 35 in Tobago have been tested with negative tests being reported thus far.
She said they will still be monitored during the incubation period.
General Manager of Primary Care at the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA) Dr Roxanne Mitchell said that as of 10 am on Tuesday, 1,024 doses of the Covid-19 vaccines were administered on the island.
