Counterfeit $100s, Cocaine Found in Arima

COCAINE and counterfeit US$100 bills were found by police this week.
An intelligence-led operation was conducted in the Arima district between 4 pm and 7 pm, on Tuesday, during which officers of the Criminal Investigations Department, acting on intelligence, proceeded to a bar in the area and arrested a 44-year-old suspect.
He was found to be in possession of a counterfeit money and cocaine, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated in a media release on Friday.

Additionally, a joint operation was conducted by members of the Northern Division North Gang Unit and the Northern Division Task Force, between 10 am and 2 am on Thursday.
The operation was part of investigations into a report of Robbery with Violence, that occurred in the Arima district on June 14, during which a male victim was accosted by four men, two armed with guns, and relieved of a quantity of valuables, including his black Nissan Almera motor vehicle.

Based on intelligence, the officers proceeded to Pinto Road, Arima, where they arrested a 17-year-old suspect and recovered a quantity of items belonging to the victim in his possession.
Investigations are ongoing into the above matters, the TTPS stated.
