MORTGAGES payments in Italy are to suspended in Italy due to the coronavirus outbreak.
More than 9,000 people have been infected by Covid-19 in Italy.
The total number of reported deaths jumped to 463 on Monday – an increase of more than 25% compared to a day earlier.
When asked about the possibility of halting mortgage payments on Radio Anch’io, Laura Castelli, the deputy economy minister, said: “Yes, that will be the case, for individuals and households.”
And Austria has banned Italians entering unless they have a medical certificate and it has also suspended university teaching and indoor events involving more than 100 people and outdoor events with more than 500.
