I had predicted this would have been a drawn match and it was. It was a thrilling low scoring game. The likes of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani have not hit the heights we expect. It was a game that Uruguay could have won if not for poor finishing. Uruguay has not scored a goal from open play by one of their players since November 11th 2020.
The pitches in the Copa appear poor when compare to what you see at the European Championships.
EduardoVargas put Chile ahead in the 26th and Suarez equalised in the 66th, even though it seemed that ArturoVidal scored an own goal. Uruguay had 17 shots at goal with five on target while Chile had only seven with one on target.
Fortunately for Uruguay they have faced the other two big teams in this group, so it will be easier from now to get points.
Argentina 1 vs Paraguay 0

I did predict an Argentine win and it happened. Argentina started brightly and it was exciting. After Papu Gomez scored in the 10th, Argentina closed shop and played to the end. It was a boring encounter and Argentina seemed to be happy scoring and then defending.
This pitch was the worst one I have seen for international football in a long time. I have played on better at the St joseph Recreation ground. The only thing missing from this pitch were the cows.
It was demotivating to see Argentina play like this with Messi and company attempting very little.
Wednesday’s games
Amazingly Copa takes another break today. I still wonder who did this schedule.
Ecuador vs Peru

Peru have shown an extremely good attitude and play by defeating Columbia. Ecuador sit at the bottom of the table and I do not expect them to be able to defeat Peru.
Brazil vs Columbia

Brazil have been the only bright spot in this Copa, playing with flair and aggression. I expect them to easily overcome Columbia and maybe give the bench some game time after.
