AN Assistant Cook attached to the Coast Guard was arrested and a firearm and quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Guard and Emergency Branch, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Port of Spain district yesterday.
Officers were on mobile patrol around 8.30 pm, on Tuesday when they observed a Mazda 3 motor vehicle proceeding along Abattoir Road.
The vehicle was intercepted and a search resulted in the discovery of one pistol loaded with an extended magazine containing three rounds of ammunition.
The driver was arrested in connection with the find.
