The ministry also reminded pedestrians of the adjacent Water Taxi Pedestrian Bridge which is located 170 meters west of Dock Road.

The Pedestrian Bridge was designed to reduce the incidents of road conflicts where pedestrians were required to cross six lanes of highly congested roadway that also carry a high volume of freight vehicles. Since completed, the Pedestrian Bridge has reduced travel times along Wrightson Road, the release stated.

The ministry stated, “In light of the above, pedestrians are asked to utilise the overpass and should observe all appropriate signage and barriers in the vicinity.”

The Ministry of Works and Transport apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked the public for its continued cooperation.
