Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Air Vice Marshall Darryl Daniel has been relieved from his post of Chief of Defence Staff.
Sources confirmed to AZP News that he received correspondence from President Christine Kangaloo.
Daniel had been the CDS since March 2019.
He was the 16th CDS and succeeded Rear Admiral Hayden Pritchard.
As head of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF), the CDS is responsible for the administrative and operational control of the military.
T&T is currently under state or emergency called on July 18 and extended for three months from July 28. It ends on October 28 unless extended again by Parliament.
