THE Caroni Licensing Office is closed.
It was closed from 10 am today (Wednesday 30th August, 2023), according to a release from the Ministry of Works and Transport.
It stated that the closure was due to a utility challenge on the Caroni Licensing compound. It did not specify.
The release stated that affected people were not required to reschedule their appointment and will be accommodated during the period Friday September 1, to Thursday September 7, 2023.
It stated that to complete a transaction, an individual MUST provide proof of their previously scheduled appointment for the Caroni Licensing Office.
The release reminded that proof of address (utility bill no older than three months) was required to complete a licensing transaction. The accepted forms of proof of address include a cable bill, home internet bill, electricity bill (T&TEC), OR water bill (WASA).
If a customer does not have a utility bill in their name, he or she is required to produce a letter of authorization from the owner and a copy of their national identification, the release stated.
