AN investigation into five stolen vehicles has led to two Diego Martin men being charged by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) Stolen Vehicles Squad.
In a press release on Monday, the TTPS stated used car dealers David John, 52, and Phillipe John, 27, both of Good Session Drive, Patna Village, Diego Martin, had been charged following an investigation into five stolen motor vehicles seized during the period August 2025 to September 2025.
Both men were arrested on December 14, following investigations into the theft of five cars, which had been seized during the period August 2025 to September 2025.
The vehicles, two Hyundai Elantras and three Nissan Tidas, were reported stolen between February 7, 2024, to July 29, 2025. the Northern North, Central, Western, Southern, and Port of Spain Divisions.
The TTPS stated following an audience with the CID/CRO Legal Department, advice was received to prefer the following charges: David John was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, David John and Phillipe John were jointly charged for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Phillipe John was further charged with Two (2) counts of Possession of a, Stolen Vehicle and One (1) count of Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
The men appeared before High Court Master Rhea Libert on Friday, with both being granted a combined bail of $200,000.
David John was granted bail in the sum of $75,000 with a surety, while Phillipe John was granted bail in the sum of $125,000 with a surety.
The matter was transferred to the Port of Spain Magistrates Court, where the men were scheduled to appear on January 16, 2025.
