Cancelled: Water Taxi Service Due to Bad Weather

THE Water Taxi Service has been cancelled on Tuesday due to bad weather.

In a release from the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) stated that the
Water Taxi Service has been temporarily disrupted due to adverse sea conditions caused by inclement weather.

It stated, “This morning (Tuesday), both sailings faced challenges while attempting to dock at the Port of Spain terminal. To ensure the safety of all passengers and to prevent any potential damage to the vessels, both sailings had to return to San Fernando without allowing passengers to disembark. Additionally, the 8:30 a.m. sailing from San Fernando was cancelled.”

NIDCO stated that it was monitoring the weather and sea conditions and will provide updates regarding the afternoon sailing schedule.

The Meteorological Office was monitoring Tropical Storm Ernesto as it passes through the Lesser Antilles. It was located about 150 kilometres west on Antigua at 8.15 am on Tuesday.
