AS Caribbean Airlines (CAL) attempts to put in place recovery flights, it further advises passengers that some international and domestic flights for Monday remain affected.

In a customer advisory at 12 noon, Caribbean Airlines stated that its teams are proactively working to manage and update its operational schedules following severe flight disruptions on Sunday, due to a high volume of sick calls from pilots.

“The airline is working on recovery flights for displaced passengers of cancelled services. However, due to the number of individuals impacted, this process is currently ongoing. Some international and domestic flights for August 21 are still impacted and our dedicated Reservations Service Centre is actively working to contact all affected customers,” the advisory stated.

A visit to the Piarco International Airport showed that passengers unable to travel yesterday were being accommodated on chartered flights by CAL.

Some said they were promised some form of compensation by the airline.

Caribbean Airlines again emphasised that if a flight was cancelled, there was no need for the passenger to head to the airport until the airline makes contact with the new flight date and time.

On Monday, there were two delayed international flights, and five cancelled international flights.

There were seven cancelled domestic flights and one delayed.
