EIGHT of the 28 people who died due to Covid-19 in Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday had no known medical conditions.
A boy is one of the dead.
This according to the Ministry of Health in information provided on the record 28 death due to Covid-19 on Saturday.
The 28 deaths included:
- 13 elderly men;
- 8 elderly women;
- 5 middle-aged men;
- 1 middle-aged woman; and
- 1 boy.
The ministry stated that 16 of the people who died had multiple comorbidities including a mix of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, history of strokes, kidney disease and asthma.
It stated that four had a single comorbidity including hypertension or asthma while eight had no known medical conditions.
The ministry also reported that out of the 96 Covid-19 patients at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, 25 were in the intensive care unit and 24 in the high-dependency unit.
It also stated that for the first time 510 patients were in the parallel healthcare system for Covid-19.
