AFTER a five-day search, the body of Qadir Shah has been recovered on Thursday.
It was found near to where Shah drowned at Turtle Rock Bay in Blanchisseuse last Friday.
He was among a group of 15 hikers who got into difficulties while bathing at Turtle Rock Bay. A fisherman rescued 14 of the hikers but Shah was not seen at that time.
Reports indicated that Shah, of Murray Park, Beaucarro Road in Freeport, got into difficulties while bathing and disappeared ten minutes later.
Coast Guard officers participated in retrieving the body around 4.30pm on Thursday.
The search for Shah, who was an avid cricketer, included national security helicopters, drones, fishermen and concerned citizens.
