MEMBER of Parliament for Moruga/Tableland Michelle Benjamin is mourning the loss of her uncle who was murdered.

Marvin Hamilton was killed on Saturday morning.

On Saturday night, in a Facebook post, Benjamin wrote, “Got the call since 7 am and even now, at 10 pm, I’m still asking myself why. Why was my uncle murdered? Why does another family have to endure this kind of pain?

“Marvin Hamilton, my father little brother, a father, a son, a friend, my uncle, lost his life in a senseless act of violence. Our community is shaken, our hearts are heavy, and our family is broken. No one deserves to die this way. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

According to reports, Hamilton who celebrated his 45th birthday one week ago, was seated in his vehicle at Branker Trace around 3.45 am where it developed mechanical problems.

He called for roadside assistance and while waiting locked himself in the vehicle for safety. Another vehicle soon stopped a short distance away and two men jumped out and ordered Hamilton out of the car. When he refused, they killed them on the spot.

Officers of the St Mary’s Police Post responded and found Hamilton unresponsive.
