LOCAL Government Elections will be held on August 14.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has advised President Christine Kangaloo to appoint August 14 as the date for holding the election.
This was announced by the Office of the Prime Minister on Tuesday evening at 3. 50 pm following debates in the Parliament.
Nomination Day will be June 26.
The Government has been under pressure to name an election date following the ruling of the Privy Council on May 18 and Dr Rowley had said due process would be followed.
