GENERAL elections in Trinidad and Tobago will be held on August 10, 2020.
Nomination day is July 17.
This was announced by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley in Parliament on Friday.
The ruling People’s National Movement (PNM) has completed its screening process with attorney Keith Scotland being the last candidate to be chosen for the Port-of-Spain South seat on Thursday.
Scotland replaces Cleopatra Borel who has dual citizenship with the US.
The Opposition United National Congress (UNC) is contesting 39 seats, none in Tobago, and are yet to finalise all of their candidates.
Rowley has advised President Paula-Mae Weekes to dissolve Parliament midnight Friday.
