Denmark mauled Wales and Italy turned it up in extra time to seal a victory. I called both games correctly.
Sensational Denmark
Denmark 4 VS Wales 0
As I predicted, Denmark would have won and four goals would have been scored as you can see from the table of my predictions. It was an exciting game and the Danes came out the victors. For the first 25 minutes Wales were the better team and seemed like they would have scored. Gareth Bale had the best chance but failed to convert. He has not scored for Wales since 2016.
After that, Denmark settled and took over the game with some wonderful football and goals. Denmark were sensational and we will continue to see the darlings of the tournament continue their fairy tale.
Denmark had 16 shots on goal with eight on target and 53% possession. This resulted in four goals. A Kasper Dolberg brace in the 27th and 48th sealed the game. It was wonderful to see the 20-year-old in full swing and certainly is one for the present and future. There were also goals from Joakim Maehle 88th and Martin Braithwaite in the 90 +4th minute.
The fairy tale continues, stay tuned to see how far it goes.
Tough Italy fight for victory
Italy 2 vs Austria 1
I had predicted an Italian win and also it would not have been an easy game. It went into extra time. It was certainly tough and exposed some Italian weaknesses. Italy were far the better team in the first half with many chances and excellent football.
In the second half Austria were the in-form team and had the ball in the back of the net but it was offside. We had to wait for extra time for the goals and they were beautiful goals. Federico Chiesa in the 95th broke the deadlock while Matteo Pessina in the 105th sealed the game for the Italians.
Extra time was very exciting and the game came alive. The Austrians never gave up and with true heart came roaring back with a goal from Sasa Kaljdzic.
The difference between the two teams proved to be the bench strength. The two Italian goals were from substitutes. Italy have now gone 31 games without defeat with 12 consecutive wins. This was the game Italy needed, to really test their strength and they came out on top.
