A 54-year-old Laventille man is assisting Tunapuna detectives with investigations into two reports of house breaking and larceny which occurred over the weekend.
The suspect, of Parsley Street, Laventille, was arrested on Saturday by Tunapuna Criminal Investigations Department (CID) detectives following preliminary enquiries into two reports of house breaking and larceny on Friday (April 9) and Saturday (April 10).
In the first incident at 4.45 am on Friday, a woman locked and secured her Ward Street, Tunapuna, home and returned at 7.25 am the following day when she discovered her home broken into.
She discovered that one chop saw, a circular saw, a fibre glass fish and 3x coils of electrical tape were missing.
In the second incident, at 4.45 am on Saturday, another woman woke up and went to her clothesline located outside her Eastern Main Road, Tunapuna home and found that her white coloured Frigidaire washing machine was missing.
No one was given permission to remove the item. Investigations, led by WPC Pelage of the Tunapuna CID, resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
