This comes days after retired Brigadier Ancil Antoine’s candidacy was withdrawn for comments he made about the United States at a campaign launch event.
Morris-Julian was among six nominees presented by the PNM’s D’Abadie/O’Meara executive to be screened for the seat.
Screening was held at Queen’s Hall on Tuesday evening and Morris-Julian was given the nod by the party’s screening committee with the announcement being made by PNM Public Relations Officer Laurel Lezama-Lee Sing.
