THE Arima Licensing Office has been closed since Thursday and will re-open next Tuesday.
The Ministry of Works and Transport in a press release on Thursday stated that during the closure period, all previously scheduled appointments have been deferred to June 1 to June 3.
Persons with confirmed appointments at the Arima Licensing Office during the period will be accommodated on the following dates:

There was no reason given for the closure.
The ministry stated, “To complete a transaction, an individual must provide proof of their scheduled appointment at the Arima Licensing Office during the period of closure. Rescheduled appointments will be based on previously allocated times.”
Persons were reminded that a proof of address-utility bill no older than three months is required to complete a licensing transaction. The accepted forms of proof of address include a cable bill, home internet bill, electricity bill or water bill.
If a customer does not have a utility bill in their name, he or she is required to produce a letter of authorisation from the owner and a copy of their national identification.
“The Ministry of Works and Transport apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks the general public for their continued cooperation,” the release stated.
