CHIEF Justice Ivor Arhie says he will retire during this law term.
He was peaking at the Convocation Hall at the Hall of Justice in Port of Spain during the opening of the 2025/2026 Law Term on Tuesday.
Archie said when he was appointed CJ in 2008, the retirement age for judges was 65, but it was now 70.
He said he has no intention of remaining in office until age 70, this would be his last address and he will retire, not resign.
Archie, 65, said President Christine Kangaloo will choose his successor, who will have his “full support but not unsolicited advice.”
