AN intelligence-led operation conducted in the St Joseph district has led to the seizure of an AR-15 rifle and 42 kilograms of cannabis.
According to a Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) media release on Sunday, officers of the North Central Division conducted an exercise on Saturday, between 11 am and 4pm on Saturday.
TTPS stated Task Force officers of Area West, NCD Criminal Investigations Department Areas East and West and the Canine Branch, proceeded to Caiman Road, St. Joseph, where they conducted a search of a busy area.

The search, the release read, resulted in the discovery of three bags containing 42 kilograms of cannabis and an AR-15 rifle, loaded with one magazine of ammunition.
Investigations into the find were ongoing.
The operation was spearheaded by ACP Singh, Snr. Supt. Gift and Supt Jaikaran and coordinated by ASP Bharath, ASP Pierre, Insp. Peters and Sgt Pamphile.
