ST AUGUSTINE MP Khadijah Ameen says the Mayor Fund of the San Fernando City Corporation is under investigation.
At a press conference at the United National Congress (UNC) head office on Chaguanas on Thursday, Ameen said, “We are asking where the money gone.”
While not going into any specific details about the amount of money missing, she questioned where did the City Corporation get funding for road paving contracts in the lead up to the 2023 Local Government Elections and the 2020 General Elections.
She said, “While other corporations were getting no money and now the questions must be answered.”
Ameen said, “We are asking for a full investigation into the Sand Fernando Mayor’s Fund and other financial irregularities at the San Fernando (City) Corporation.”
