MINISTER of Homeland Security Roger Alexander has officially received input from the Trinidad and Tobago Range Operators Association (TTROA).
Alexander met with the TTROA on Wednesday and received the contributions as part of the consultation process, with key stakeholders for the implementation of the Stand Your Ground Legislation.

The handover follows a previous engagement that the ministry held with the TTROA, the ministry stated via its social media pages.
At that meeting, discussions were held on strengthening public safety and promoting responsible firearm ownership.
Wednesday’s handover emanates from that earlier discussion and focused on:
·       Stand Your Ground Legislation – Ensuring a balanced legal framework that empowers citizens to protect themselves while preserving public order.
·       Home Invasion Legislation – Enhancing laws to deter violent crimes and protect homeowners.
·       Firearm Licensing & Regulation – Improving efficiency, accountability, and adherence to safety protocols in firearm licensing.

“The ministry recognises the TTROA as a key and valued stakeholder in this process, particularly in the development of the Stand Your Ground legislation, and looks forward to continued collaboration to ensure fair, effective, and enforceable laws,” the ministry stated.
