FLIGHT operations have resumed at the Piarco International Airport after fire broke out early Friday morning.
The fire broke out at the Amerijet warehouse facility at the south terminal of Piarco International Airport which caused all flight operations to be temporarily suspended.

The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago in a statement said the incident was immediately responded to by the Piarco Fire Station supported by units from the Arima Fire Station.
The suspension of flights remained in effect pending clearance from the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service and the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority.
Passengers were advised to check with their respective airlines, as the closure may have caused delays.
During the suspension, international flights were temporarily diverted to the ANR Robinson International Airport in Tobago.
Although flights have resumed, passengers may still experience delays, the Authority stated in a subsequent statement and further advised that passengers liaise with their respective airlines for the latest flight information.
The Authority also thanked the travelling public and stakeholders for their patience and cooperation and adding that it remained committed to ensuring the safety, security, and efficiency of operations at Piarco International Airport.
