MINISTER of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan meets with the Route Two Maxi Taxi Association head Linus Phillip to discuss the concerns raised by the disgruntled drivers.
The meeting took place on Friday after maxt taxi operators staged a four-hour protest to highlight the conditions of facilities at the transport hub in Port-of-Spain.
The drivers called for better facilities at City Gate that is managed by the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC).
Vehicular access to City Gate was blocked and commuters had to make alternative travel arrangements.
After the demonstration that ended at 9 a.m., Sinanan called the meeting to listen to the greviences.
Drivers told AZPNews that they were assured of upgrades at City Gate, including better management of the facility, lighting, pedestrian access and security.
