AFTER serving the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) for more than three decades, T&TEC’s General Manager Chrisalston Belle will retire officially today (Sunday, August 31 2025).
T&TEC on Friday informed the public of Belle’s retirement after 33 years of service.
Area Manager-Distribution South Vijai Ramnanansingh, has been appointed to act as General Manager during the transition.
Ramnanansingh has been employed with the Commission for 22 years.
T&TEC stated, “The Board of Commissioners thanks Mr Belle for his service to T&TEC and by extension the country and wish him a happy and fulfilling retirement.”
Belle has held several senior positions in the organisation and is credited with introducing technological solutions to minimise outage time; the implementation of the Outage Management System; the Restore and Repair concept for responding to feeder trips and the use of Business Intelligence to aid with data analytics and improved decision making.
As Chief Technical Officer in 2023, he led the completion and Commissioning of the Union/ Gandhi 220kV circuit. This 22KM-long backup circuit takes electricity from the country’s largest and most efficient electricity generating company, Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) in La Brea, to the Gandhi Substation, where it is transmitted to the rest of the country.
