AN Adverse Weather Alert Yellow Level #2 is now in effect for both islands and remains in effect until 6 pm on Monday.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological office stated, “Elevated river levels and saturated soils will increase the likelihood of localised ponding and street flooding. Smaller watercourses can become overwhelmed in heavy downpours. Gusts in excess of 55km/h can be expected near heavy downpours and can displace loose outdoor objects and unsecured roofs.”
In addition, landslides/landslips are also likely in areas so prone.
FORECAST: Partly cloudy/cloudy conditions with periods of intermittent light or moderate showers/ rain. There is a 70% (high) chance of heavier showers and thunderstorm activity, especially during the morning period.
Conditions will gradually settle by evening into the night despite a few lingering showers.
The Remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Generally fair and breezy conditions despite brief showers in a few areas.
