This meant that most activity associated with it already passed both islands and Tropical Storm conditions were no longer expected.

However, lingering moisture and instability were forecast to produce showers and the odd thunderstorm over parts of the country.

The Hazardous Seas Alert meanwhile remains in effect until 2 am on Sunday with waves expected to reach four metres around coastlines of Tobago and north and eastern coasts of Trinidad.

Close to the shoreline, seas were forecast to become occasionally choppy with wave heights expected to reach up to 2 metres.

As such, citizens are advised to monitor sea conditions and be extremely cautious during the alert period.

They are also asked to avoid venturing into the sea, heed instructions of lifeguards and be on the alert for dangerous currents.
