PLANS are in place to deal with Covid-19 during the upcoming rainy season.
This according to Chief Technical Coordinator of the Ministry of Health’s Disaster Preparedness Department Patti-Ann Williams at the virtual news conference on Monday.
She said, “The upcoming hurricane season is estimated to bring with it eight hurricanes with at least four of a category three or higher.”
Williams said a number state agencies have banded together to put measures in place to deal with any disasters that might affect TT.
She said, “Now disaster management in the Covid-19 pandemic in Trinidad and Tobago is a hybrid of several existing strategies.
“Disaster management plans, the national response framework, the pandemic Covid plan, the inter-ministerial Covid task force and most recently the post Covid recovery task force.”
Williams said the aim is to ensure that TT bounced quickly in the wake of a disaster.
