FISHERMEN are considered essential and will be allowed to ply their trade under the Public Health Ordinance.
At a news conference on Monday, National Security Minister Stuart Young said, “Fishermen are essential, we will specifically add fishermen and agricultural workers, so the answer is that fishermen can continue their fishing.”
But he said the fishermen must still abide by the social distancing protocols as other essential services.
Young said, “In the sale of the fish, please continue to heed the advice of the Chief Medical Officer and the Ministry of Health.
“Proper social distancing, proper hygiene. It does not mean that people should go and mass congregate.”
