POLICE are investigating the killing of a woman whose body was found beneath a bridge near the Eddie Hart Ground in Tacarigua on Wednesday morning.
Officers on patrol along the Priority Bus Route (PBR) were alerted to the discovery around 11 am. Police said the woman had multiple chop wounds and was located under a bridge spanning the bus route, near a bright green Water and Sewerage Authority main.
A team from the Region Two Homicide Bureau visited the scene and the body was later taken to a mortuary in Champs Fleurs.
The victim was described as a dark-skinned woman of African descent, believed to be in her mid-20s to early 30s. Police said her identity had not been confirmed, but she was often seen in the area with other people, some of whom were homeless.
