T&T Under Yellow Alert Extended Until 12 Noon Friday

TRINIDAD and Tobago remains under an adverse weather yellow level alert.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) stated in an update on Wednesday that the alert which came into effect on Tuesday at 11 pm is expected on Friday at 12 noon.

TTMS stated, “Rainfall activity of varying intensities, with a low (30%) chance of isolated thunderstorms, is expected to persist intermittently throughout the day and extend into tomorrow, despite some settled periods in between.
“Major Rivers are contained at this time, however remain elevated. Relatively strong low-level winds have also led to seas in open waters becoming occasionally rough with wave heights at times exceeding 2.5 metres.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure advised of flooding in East Trinidad. Areas reported were Baker Trace, Coalmine in Sangre Grande and Fishing Pond in the vicinity of Seecharan Road and Flemming Road and Adventist Street.
In Tobago, a landslide obstructed motorists at Bad Rock Road.
There were also reports of flooding in the Couva/Tabquite/Talparo Regional Corporation.

Additionally, the Tobago Heritage Bus Tour which was scheduled for Wednesday was postponed to Thursday.
The TTMS is urging motorists to drive with caution, avoid flooded areas and use alternative routes where possible.
