THE Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued an Adverse Weather Alert #2 – Yellow Level for Trinidad and Tobago from 3 am to 4 pm Thursday.
A Yellow Level is issued when there is a moderate risk of adverse weather that may affect daily activities and necessitate heightened awareness.
The TTMS categorises the severity as moderate, with an immediate urgency and observed certainty.
TTMS stated, “Scattered showers and persistent rain with occasional thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds continue to affect various parts of Trinidad and Tobago. Possible Impacts: Street and/or flash flooding in areas prone, localized ponding in low-lying areas and landslips and landslides.”
These conditions may lead to street and/or flash flooding in prone areas and localized ponding is likely in low-lying areas.
The TTMS advises the public to remain alert and monitor weather conditions while taking steps to reduce any possible risks.
