BUSINESS Strategist, Ria Karim is the newly appointed Chairman of iGovTT.
Karim, along with newly appointed Deputy Chairman Nischall Shane Poona and eleven other board members, were presented with their letters of appointment on Tuesday by Minister of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence Dominic Smith at the Ministry’s head office at the International Waterfront Centre, Port of Spain.
The appointment of the iGovTT board of directors was announced in a media release on Wednesday.
Serving with Karim and Poona, are newly appointed board members Brent C. Hector, Shivana Motie, Kissoonlal Sinanan, Shannon Rampersad, Khalid Burke, Atiba Phillips, Sapphire Mohan, Miriam Rampersad, and Jessel Mohammed.
The release stated the board had been given the mandate to build a digital society, drive a digital economy and establish a digital government.
The Ministry stated, “Minister Smith emphasised the critical role iGovTT plays in bridging the digital divide and transitioning Trinidad and Tobago into a more connected and efficient society. Minister Smith urged the Board to embrace three guiding principles: Sharing the Vision, Feeling the Vision and Working Together to Execute the Vision.”
“Further, the Minister stressed that success of these principles will depend on the Board’s ability to make digital transformation a lived reality for all citizens, ensuring no one is left behind,” they added.
