PRIME Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is boasting about “big wins” after her trips to New York and Washington, D.C.
She returned on Wednesday night, and in a video posted on social media she said.
The PM said, “I’m so happy to have landed here in Piarco, back to work. Our team represented T&T brilliantly, and I want to thank them all.
“And of course the back-ups in Trinidad also, brilliantly, I want to thank our acting Prime Minister Jearlean John.”
“We came back with many big wins for Trinidad and Tobago, and in the coming days, we will roll out some of the goodies we have brought back.
“But big wins, I think, we have done very well. Thanks to the team and thanks to all of you in T&T, I’m so happy to be back home.”
In New York, Persad-Bissessar addressed the United Nations General Assembly and met with officials from a number of countries, including the United Arab Emirates and Ghana, as well as members of the Trinidad and Tobago diaspora.
In Washington, Persad-Bissessar also met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss Dragon gas and other issues.
Minister of Works and Infrastructure Jearlean John acted as prime minister for Persad-Bissessar’s first trip out of the country since being sworn in as head of government on May 1.
