4 Charged for Barrackpore Home Invasion

FOUR persons, alleged to have stolen more than $15,000 worth of items and $4,500 cash, during a home invasion have been jointly charged in the matter.

Two women, 29 and 35, and two men 28 and 31, from Barrackpore and Gasparillo were held by officers of the South Western Division in connection to a reported burglary at a residence on South Oropouche Trace, South Barrackpore.

According to a release on Monday from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the victims were asleep, when loud noises awakened them. Upon investigating the noise, they observed two men climbing through a window on the western side of their home.

The TTPS stated the suspects tied up the victims and robbed them of cash and valuable totalling $19,500, USD $2,200 and a gold Mazda 3 motor vehicle, in which the suspects escaped.

Enquiries conducted by PC Seecharan, led to the execution of searches at the homes of three of the suspects, where several items were recovered, the TTPS reported.

The TTPS stated, the four suspects were jointly charged with: Burglary, two counts of False Imprisonment, two counts of Robbery with Violence and Larceny Motor Vehicle.

Additionally, the TTPS reported a female (29) was charged with Possession of Stolen Items.

The suspects were expected to appear before the South Criminal Court on Monday.
